Why should I convert my videotapes to DVD now?
Your VHS tapes and other handycam tapes are degrading as each year goes by. This lost quality may never be returned to the original quality. Converting to DVD will stop this process in its tracks giving you peace of mind that your home footage will be viewable by your grandchildren.
What is wrong with my VHS tapes?
There is nothing wrong with recording your favourite TV show onto VHS. You watch it once then you record next week’s show and do the same thing. This is a great solution for this scenario. However, you have surely noticed that the quality of the recording is deteriorating every week until it gets to the point where you have to replace the tape you use to record onto and start the process again. That is no big deal…. unless your one time only video footage of your children as infants is on the VHS tape. Don’t let this happen to your memories.
What video formats do you accept?
We accept VHS, S-VHS, miniDV and 8mm formats. However, if you have a different format than the ones listed here, please email us and we may be able to suggest something.
What length of video footage can fit on a single DVD?
Up to 120 minutes can fit on one DVD. Any more than this and quality will suffer.
Can I combine multiple videotapes to create a single DVD?
Yes. Video can be even combined from several different formats on the same DVD. Clear instructions with time-codes must be given on the order form. There is no additional fee for this service.
Can I have text and end credits to compliment the DVD movie?
Yes. We can put in text, messages, special thanks, etc at any point throughout the movie. Details can be provided on the order form.
